The House meet scheduled for 1pm today has been put off for 3pm.
When the bill is endorsed through regular procedure, it takes at least five days for the bill to get matured after its registration at the Legislature-Parliament. According to Parliament regulations, lawmakers are given 72 hours to file any amendment after discussion on bills. With this, it takes at least nine days for a bill to get endorsed.
However, the government is preparing to adopt fast-track to endorse the bill that aims at granting electoral symbol to RJP-Nepal.
While the government is finding ways to bring RJP-Nepal onboard the second phase of local level elections, the party, which was formed after merger of six Madhes-based parties, is preparing to begin another protest.
According to sources, the party is likely to announce its protest programmes today itself.
