Indian, Chinese envoys call on PM Deuba

Envoy Puri reached the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu this morning and held discussion on the latest political developments, informed PM’s secretariat. The meeting between the Prime Minister and the Indian Ambassador focused on further consolidating the mutual interests and bilateral relations existing between the two neighbours, informed OPMCM.
The Indian Ambassador’s visit comes a day after the government postponed the local level elections in Province 2 until September 18 as part of its effort to bring the agitating Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal (RJP-N) on board the poll process.
Likewise, Ambassador of China to Nepal Yu Hong also called on PM Deuba today. The meeting with the Chinese Ambassador was also focused on the discussions about further strengthening the bilateral relations and mutual cooperation, the OPMCM said.
These are the first meetings of the ambassadors with Prime Minister Deuba since he was elected to the post.
