Speaking at a programme organised at Reporters’ Club in the Capital on Saturday, leader Mahato said that the party choose the way of protest to protect the nation from the hands of government.
Leader Mahato accused the three major political parties—Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre)—of trying to divide the nation.
“We were forced to announce peaceful protest programmes after the three parties tried to divide the nation,” he said.
The RJP-N senior leader further said that the party would not take part in the second phase of local level elections until the government addressed the demands of Madhes, Indigenous and Tharuhat.
“We will not take part in the elections until our demands are met,” said Mahato, adding, “The three parties are trying to ruin the country.”
He further made it clear that the Madhesi parties had organised various protest programmes in the past as well to save the country from being ruined.
Moreover, Mahato claimed that the forceful conduction of elections would push to country towards conflict.
He reiterated that the party would not participate in any kind of elections.
