RJP-Nepal central treasurer joins UML
Jun 19, 2017-
Central Treasurer of the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal Anita Yadav joined the CPN-UML on Sunday.
UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli welcomed Yadav to the party amid a function in Kathmandu. RJP-N’s central member Rajeshwor Mahaseth has also joined the UML.
Yadav resigned from the RJP-N on Saturday opposing the party’s “extremist behaviours”. Speaking at the programme, Yadav said she had returned home after spending a decade of her 24-year political career in the Madhes-based parties.
Yadav’s husband Shree Krishna Yadav was treasurer of the then-Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party. Shree Krishna was previously in the UML but quit the party to join the Mahantha Thakur-led TMLP.
Following Shree Krishna’s death in an accident, Yadav had contested the second CA election from Dhanusha-5 for the TMLP but finished third, behind Chandra Mohan Yadav of the Nepali Congress and UML’s Raghubir Mahaseth.
Yadav is another high-profile Madhesi leader to join the UML after RJP-N Central Deputy General Secretary Samim Miya Ansari.
CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Basaruddin Ansari has also joined the UML in Birgunj. (PR)
