CPN (Maoist Centre) candidates have been elected chairperson and deputy chairperson in Thawang Rural Municipality of Rolpa district.
CPN (MC)'s Bir Bahadur Gharti Magar won the election with 1990 votes while his nearest rival Amit Gharti Magar (independent) received 1050 votes. Similarly, MC's Ram Kirani Rokka elected deputy chairperson by securing 1969 votes. Her closest contender, NC's Shree Kumar Rokka Magar polled 965 votes.
The elecion result of Thawang was declared on Friday night itself after the completion of counting in Ward-1. Apart from Ward-1, CPN (Maoist Centre) has won all the wards.
