NC, Maoist Centre, RPP discuss constitution amendment proposal

During the meeting summoned by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, leaders discussed ways to go ahead with the constitution amendment proposal and conclude the third phase of local level elections slated for September 18 in Province 2.
On the occasion, NC and Maoist Centre sought RPP’s view on the amendment proposal. In response, the RPP said that it was positive on the proposal.
Today’s meeting was summoned after the meeting of top leaders of NC, Maoist Centre and Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal (RJP-N) held on Friday evening reached an agreement to amend the constitution by mid-July.
Prime Minister Deuba, former Prime Minister and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa and RPP leader Pashupati Shamsher Rana were present in the meeting.
