Thapa claims charity golf

A nine-handicapped golfer, Thapa scored 40 points to earn two-way tickets from Kathmandu to Singapore courtesy Silk Air. Ang Tshiring Sherpa finished second with 38 points. Prithivi Malla won the best gross award with 36 points. Lt Gen KNS Thapa clinched the seniors category honour for golfers aged 60-years and above with 30 points. Mayank Dahal bagged the junior trophy with 33 points. Aarti Rana was ladies winner with 28 points. Tashi Dong collected the most birdies award with five. Sanjiv Rai won the longest drive and Ang Dendi Sherpa bagged took the closest-to-the-pin honour.
In all, 56 amateur golfers took part in the tournament played under stableford format with 3/4 handicap allowance and organised for the benefit of Ability Development Society of Nepal (Adson).
Chinese golfer Wang Zongkai donated Rs 1 million to Adson, informed the organisers. The event was supported by Gokarna Club, Nepal SBI Bank, Himalayan Bank, Laxmi Bank, NIC Asia Bank, Kathmandu Medical College, Carlsberg, Sri Investment and Finance Company, Silk Air, Buddha International Travels and Tours, Meghabyte Travels and Tours and Sumegh Travel and Tours.
