People injured in flooding at Likhu Village Council of Ramechhap district have been airlifted via helicopter to Trauma Centre in Kathmandu for treatment on Sunday.

Incessant rains on Saturday night triggered flood in the area killing two people and injuring nine others including a child, according to one of the rescuers Umesh Shrestha.

A local Prakash Khatri said that injured people were rescued only on Sunday morning. The injured ones were brought to Kathmandu due to lack of proper treatment facility in Ramechhap, Khatri said.

“We could not rescue the flood victims on Saturday itself due to landslide. When we reached the site this morning, some survived by climbing on a tree while some others were found unconscious under a boulder,” said Khatri.
