Kailali
Seven people have died in three months from snakebites in Kailali district. Three persons died in course of treatment, whereas four died while being rushed to hospital, according to Krishna Bohara, the in charge of the emergency ward at Seti Zonal Hospital.
One of the reasons snakebite fatality rate is high in the district is the prevalent practice of seeking treatment with shamans, Bohara said. Medical treatment is sought only after the condition of patient has deteriorated, he added. The hospital has already received 68 snakebite cases.
