Over 600K vehicles face the music in Capital

The vehicles were penalized for haphazard parking, driving under the influence (DUI), lane violation, non-compliance with the rule on horn ban and for speeding through the zebra crossings.
According to a RSS report, the highest number of vehicles – 31, 533 in overall – faced legal action for violating the lane discipline whereas 29, 080 vehicles were fined for haphazard parking.
Likewise, a total of 28,896 drivers faced the music for driving under the influence as 9,663 vehicles were fined for honking horns without necessity.
Last year, the MTPD had taken action against 548,770 vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Division has stated that 11 accidents were recorded until now this year due to potholes and road depressions.
