Labour Committee directs ambassadors to take stock of Nepali workers in Malaysia
International Relations and Labour Committee of the Legislature-Parliament on Thursday directed the ambassadors to take stock of Nepali migrant labourers working in Malaysia.International Relations and Labour Committee of the Legislature-Parliament on Thursday directed the ambassadors to take stock of Nepali migrant labourers working in Malaysia.
The Committee also directed the ambassadors to hold a foreign employment assembly in the presence of ambassadors.
The House panel issued the directive by holding a meeting with the ministers for Foreign Affairs, Home and Labour.
The meeting has drawn the attention of concerned ministries to implement the decisions taken earlier.
The meeting has also directed the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Affairs to sign a labour agreement with the concerned country to send domestic labourers and implement it, develop software and provide security and carry out rescue operations, amend foreign employment Act and update it to suit the current need.
The meeting also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make monitoring mechanism of Nepali labourers at the Nepali Embassy in the country where a large number of Nepali migrant workers are based.
