NC begins poll campaign in Province 2

The party’s central publicity coordination subcommittee organised a gathering in Janakpur on Saturday. Bimalendra Nidhi, Ramesh Lekhak, Mahendra Yadav and Ananda Prasad Dhungana were among the top Congress leaders who attended the
gathering.
The NC is organising a provincial gathering on Wednesday. The party said that Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and other leaders will address the rally.
Speaking at Saturday’s event, NC leaders claimed that the party would win at least 100 local units in the eight Tarai districts to emerge as the biggest party at the local level. There are 127 local units in total in Province 2. The CPN-UML has won the largest number of local government seats in the two phases of local polls.
Nidhi instructed party cadres to take the agendas of constitution amendment and infrastructure development to the people. “Madhesi people are in favour of the Congress. They will make the NC number one force in the country,” the former deputy prime minister claimed.
Lekhak said publicity committees would be formed in all the eight districts soon.
