Rs 500,000 aid to Khimti flood victims

After inspecting the flood-hit area on Saturday, Sharma said the government would provide Rs500,000 for the affected families to build their homes. He said the relief is on par with what earthquake victims get—Rs300,000 to build homes and Rs200,000 to purchase land.
Chief District Officer Surya Bahadur Khatri said the minister handed over Rs100,000 to each family who lost their beloved ones and Rs10,000 each to 10 displaced families. Three weeks ago, five people were killed in the flood at Khimti. Minister Sharma also pledged to set up a Bailey bridge over the Chhatiwane stream. The bridge was washed away by the flooded stream.
