The Jay Prithvi Highway that connects Bajhang district to other districts of the nation has been obstructed due to landslides at multiple places and increased water levels at various rivers.

Continuous rainfall since Saturday has flooded Narugadh River and another river near Raudi Bazaar. Traffic has been halted as there are no bridges over these rivers.

Similarly, landslides have occurred at multiple places including Jalyabagar, Chabis, Pathivara rural municipalities have obstructed roads. Vehicles to and from district headquarters Chainpur have been stranded at multiple places.

District police said they were trying to open the road but were not sure how long it will take to resume vehicular movement.

The highway has been obstructed for more than 22 times since mid-July.
