Death toll from flood, landslide climbs to 58 [UPDATE]

At least thirty deaths were reported until Saturday night which, until Sunday evening, climbed to 58.
Home Mnister Janardan Sharma's secretariat informed 23 have gone missing and 32 people are reported injured in floods and landslides across the country. Some 35,843 houses have been inundated, 1,000 houses are damaged and 305 livestock died in the floods, the Ministry data says.
Ministry's data showed eight died in Sunsari, seven in Rautahat, five in Morang, six each in Makwanpur and Morang, four in Sindhuli and three each in Surkhet, Banke and Jhapa.
Many cities in the Tarai region have been inundated while transportation along the East West Highway has been halted after a pillar of Dudhaura Bridge sank at Pathlaiya-Nijgadh road section.
