PM Deuba in Sunsari to assess damage caused by floods
A team under the leadership of Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba arrived in Sunsari on Monday afternoon to take stock of the situation in the flood affected areas.A team under the leadership of Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba arrived in Sunsari on Monday afternoon to take stock of the situation in the flood affected areas. PM Deuba is accompained by Defence Minister Bhimsen Das Pradhan, and Home Minister Janardan Sharma, among other high-level officials.
The team arrived at Nepal Army Eastern Division Headquarters and enquired about the loss of lives and damage to properties caused by floods in the region and directed Nepal Army and local administration to help the affected people.
It also asked the local administration not to spare anything to provide emergency support to all flood-affected families.
The team is here to enquire about the condition of flood victims and ongoing task for relief distribution, emergency security management and rehabilitation of the victims.
PM Deuba has reached there to inquire about the loss details and adopt an effective measure to take the reliefs to the victims.
He is comprised by Nepal Army (NA) chief Rajendra Chhetri and high level officials of different Ministries.
The high level team has reached Itahari Division of the NA after making an aerial survey of the floods affected area via helicopter.
Similarly, another team comprising DPM Bijay Gachchhadar, Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Commerce Minister Min Bishwakarma and Culture Minister Jitendra Dev is also scheduled to reach at the district headquarters Inaruwa to inspect the flood affected area this evening.
It is stated that the DPM Gachchhadar led team will also interact with government officials regarding the disaster loss and adopting the measures to take the reliefs to the victims.
