Dahal urges political parties to unite in time of natural disaster
Aug 17, 2017-
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged all political parties to come together and engage in rescue operation and relief distribution in the wake of flooding and landslides that have wreaked colossal havoc in Tarai districts.
Talking to media persons at Janakpur Airport on Thursday, the former Prime Minister underscored the need for all parties to unite and help in the time of natural disaster, irrespective of their role either as the ruling or the opposition.
He was in the district to attend a programme organised to unveil the statue of martyr Chandeshwor Mandal on the occasion of Memorial Day of Mandal.
He also appealed one and all to help for flood and landslide victims, recalling help provided by people of Tarai Madhes during the earthquake of April 2015.
Moreover, he expressed his hope that the constituent amendment bill would be passed by August 21.
The main opposition CPN-UML was positive about finalising the proposal, despite its discontent over it. RSS
