The government has committed to curb irregularities and distribute relief materials in a fair manner in the affected areas, read a statement issued by the Home Ministry spokesperson Ram Krishna Subedi on Thursday.
The government urged those who want to help the individuals and families affected by floods, landslides and inundation to contact or coordinate with local government, District Disaster Relief Committee and Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
The government has been distributing relief materials in the flood-affected areas through a joint mechanism where local representatives were not picked and local representative mechanism was not formed.
Around 128 people died, 25 others were injured and 33 are missing in the floods across the nation so far.
