Most of the people displaced by floods from Raptisonari, Duduwa, Narainapur and different parts of Khajura Rural Municipality are facing various health problems like fever, diarrhoea and flu.
The District Public Health Office, Banke, has sent medical teams to the affected sites, said DPHO Chief Khim Bahadur Khadka, while health camps have been set up in eight affected areas.
Consumption of polluted drinking water is found to be a main cause of the diseases, he said, while eye problem and skin infection are common among the survivors.
So far over 500 patients with the diseases have received treatment, he added.
Likewise, swollen Rapti River and other various rivers here have affected around 9,500 families in the district. RSS
