Most of the schools of Rapti Sonari and Narainapur rural municipalities (RM) have been deluged due to rainfall on August 11.
Schools of Puraina, Udharapur, Baijanath RMs have been submerged and flood survivors are taking shelter at the schools from where the flood waters have drained.
Books and copies of the students have been ruined after the floods damaged their houses.
The District Education Office said they have been collecting data of the students affected by floods. District Education Officer Bhim Bahadur Saud said we have learnt that around 81 schools have been inundated. But the details of the damage are yet to come, he said.
“The studies of around 15,000 students have been affected for the past five days,” said Saud. “Flood displaced people have been taking shelter at many schools. He said the schools will resume from Sunday if the flood displaced people returned.
