A meeting of the party’s central working committee held in Hetauda, headquarters of Makwanpur district, concluded that the party would vote against the amendment bill because no discussion was held regarding the reinstatement of Hindu status to the nation.
The meeting also accused the government and ruling coalition of playing active role in splitting the party.
The party claimed that it is committed towards the rights and identity of Madhesi people and for the overall development of Madhes. However, it accused the government and Rastriya Janata Party of not being serious towards the constitution amendment as the Madhes-centric parties have expressed their commitment to participate in the polls with or without the endorsement of the amendment.
