Kathmandu
Metropolitan Police Crime Division has raided Dugad Food And Beverage's company in Satungal after finding the company using date-expired ingredients to manufacture its popular mango flavored drink Frooti.
Police said some 400 containers of totapuri mango pulp were found to have crossed the expiry-date. Each container of the pulp weighs at 223 kilograms and is a vital component of the drink.
We found the company using date-expired components to make the drinks, police said.
This is the second time this year Dugad's godown has been sealed for contamination in its popular drink. Supply Management and Consumers' Rights Protection Department had sealed Dugad's godown after finding the use of inedible substance in the drinks some two months ago.
