Speaking at a press meet in Bharatpur on Sunday, the UML chief said that the decision was implemented under pressure from Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba as the UML had given a ticket to Basruddin Ansari—the medical college operator—to run for the mayoral post in Birgunj Metropolis.
Oli accused PM Deuba of abusing his power in his capacity as the TU chancellor by taking an arbitrary decision.
The UML is not running any medical colleges, claimed the former prime minister, while questioning the government why Manmohan Medical College was not allowed to operate even though it meets the required criteria. (PR)
