A teenage boy hammered his friend to death in Helambu Rural Municipality-3 of Sindhupalchok district.

Sujan Chaudhary, 18, of Bardiya killed his friend Bishal Chaudhary, 30, of the same district by attacking him with a hammer following a minor squabble under the influence of alcohol.

Both of them were deputed to construct the Helambu Rural Municipality-based Jaya Bageshwori Secondary School from the starting.

Police during the investigation came to know the incident occurred while they were consuming alcohol together on Sunday evening.

Sujan was immediately arrested following the incident for the investigation, according to the Area Police Office, Melamchi.

“The body has been brought to Melamchi for postmortem,” Inspector Nawaraj Dhungana of the Area Police Office, Melamchi said, adding, “They have already started investigation by keeping Sujan in the custody.”
