Update: 7 killed, 28 injured in Nuwakot bus accident

Two of the deceased have been identified as Shashi Bogati, 21, of Bidur Municipality-9 and Laxmi Neupane, 46, of Tadi-5. The identity of others deceased are yet to be established.
Among the injured, seven persons are in critical condition, lawmaker Jagadish Narsingh KC of Nuwakot said.
He informed that the injured are receiving treatment at Maharagunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Samakhusi-based Green City and BP Smriti among other health facilities in the Capital.
The incident occurred when the bus (Ba 1 Kha 6348) heading towards Nuwakot from Kathmandu skidded off the road and fell some 350 metres down in a house belonging to Anil Tamang at around 12 pm today. Tamang’s wife Sita was injured in the incident.
The reason behind the accident is yet to be known.
According to the District Police Office, Nuwakot, the bus driver fled the scene after incident while the assistant driver who was seriously injured in the incident has been taken to Kathmandu for treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the District Hospital in Trishuli for autopsy.
Locals and security personnel are carrying out rescue operation.
