Dahal’s conduct far from Maoist ideology: Bhattarai
Naya Shakti Nepal (NSN) Party Coordinator Baburam Bhatttarai has alleged that CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s conduct is far from the Maoist ideology.Naya Shakti Nepal (NSN) Party Coordinator Baburam Bhatttarai has alleged that CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s conduct is far from the Maoist ideology.
In an interview published in Nepal weekly leader Bhattarai has accused his former comrade of behaving as a non-Maoist. “He (Dahal) is conducting himself as a non-Maoist while displaying the signboard of Maoist,” said Bhattarai.
NSN coordinator Bhattarai, however, said that despite their ideological differences he has cordial personal relationship with the CPN (MC) Chair. “There will always be ideological disputes in politics, which we have, but we have a cordial personal relationship,” said the former Prime Minister.
Talking about the leaders who abandoned the NSN Party, leader Bhattarai said that the party deserters failed to understand the spirit of alternative politics and backtracked from the new movement. “They have made it easier for us to explain to the people that we are indeed an alternative political force as there were some wrong perceptions that our party is a splinter faction of the CPN (MC),” Bhattarai said.
Prominent NSN leaders including Devendra Poudel, Rameshwor Khanal, Ram Chandra Jha, Parshuram Tamang, and Pasang Sherpa, among others, who had left Dahal led Maoist party along with leader Bhattarai, deserted the Naya Shakti party to join their mother party last month.
Similarly, leader Bhattarai has claimed that the NSN will emerge as a national party after the provincial and federal elections slated for November 26 and December 7 later this year. He, however, said that the result from the upcoming third-phase of local level elections scheduled for September 18 is highly unlikely to be in his party’s favour.
