Chairman Dahal, whose party is also a partner in the Deuba-led coalition government, speaking to mediapersons at Rajbiraj in Saptari district, said that it would not be favourable to forge an agreement with India regarding the construction of high dam without proper study.
CPN (MC) Chairman Dahal is in the district headquarters Rajbiraj to campaign for the upcoming third phase of local level election slated for September 18.
“The government should take necessary steps only after a detailed study is conducted on whether constructing Koshi High Dam will be in the interest of Nepal or not,” said Dahal.
PM Deuba, during an election publicity meeting on Tuesday, had said that an agreement has been forged with India regarding the construction of Koshi High Dam as every year high dams on the Indian side causes massive flooding in the bordering areas of Nepal.
In a different note, Chairman Dahal said that a package programme will be introduced for the development of Rajbiraj saying that the situation of the Saptari headquarters is in dire straits.
