Speaking at a programme organised at the Reporters’ Club in the Capital on Wednesday, he said, “Our attention has been drawn towards the recent Cabinet expansion, but we cannot take action against the Prime Minister, we can only suggest him.”
On a different note, he said that the election body would take action against those who tried to lure voters by organising feasts during the third phase of local level elections slated for September 18.
He warned that the nominations would be scrapped if any candidate was found involved in organising feast during electioneering.
“We have heard that the candidates have been spending a huge amount of money for the elections, but we have not found any proof yet,” he said, adding, “If we receive photos as a proof, we will take action against him/her on the spot.”
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had expanded his Cabinet for the fifth time on Monday by inducting three ministers from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Prajatantrik).
With the expansion, the size of Deuba-led cabinet has reach 53, making it the biggest in country's history.
