The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday sent separate letters to seven political parties, asking them to stop violation of election of conduct.
The last leg of local elections is scheduled for September 18 in Province 2. The poll code for the local polls has been in force since August 17.
According to a press release issued by the EC, it has sent letters to the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML), CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Prajatantrik), Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum, Nepal Loktantrik Forum and the Rastriya Janata Party.
The EC has also specifically said in its statement they spotted poll code violations by the parties—rallies using four-wheelers and two-wheelers, use of cap, T-shirts and stickers with party election symbols and use of children in poll campaigns.
Loud noises with mikes during campaigns, wall painting, use of posters related to election campaigns in public places and use of flags and banners bigger than permissible size are other code violations, the EC said.
