“The government should move ahead only after a detailed study is conducted on whether constructing the Koshi High Dam will be in the interest of Nepal,” said Dahal while talking to journalists in Rajbiraj, Saptari on Wednesday.
Dahal’s Maoist Centre is a key coalition partner of PM Deuba.
During an election publicity rally in Rajbiraj on Tuesday, PM Deuba had said an agreement “has been reached with India regarding the construction of the Koshi High Dam”.
Dahal was in Rajbiraj on Wednesday to attend the party’s campaign for the upcoming local elections scheduled for September 18.
“A package programme will be introduced for the development of Rajbiraj,” said Dahal who arrived in the district on Tuesday.
