Naya Shakti Nepal Coordinator Baburam Bhattarai has said he will contest upcoming election from Gorkha region number 2.

Speaking at a party programme in the district on Saturday, Bhattarai claimed people will remember his works during his tenure as Prime Minister and Finance Minister and vote for him. "I have drawn a roadmap for the development of Gorkha district during my ministerial tenure. I will fill colours in those drawings after winning election," the former PM said.

Bhattarai said he will not forge any alliance with other parties and instead contest on its own. "If competition is fierce, it will give rise to new forces," he said.

He also said his party would field candidates across the country in upcoming election. "We will focus our campaign in particular places and win election," he added.
