The Ram Babu-Gyanu Social Service Award Fund has honoured three organisations with cash prizes for their contributions to society.

The Ram Babu-Gyanu Social Service Award with a purse of Rs200,000 was awarded to the Mahila and Briddha Sewa Kendra based in Bhimdatta Municipality, Kanchanpur, at a ceremony held in the Capital on Saturday.

The Ram Babu-Gyanu Social Worker Award with Rs100,000 cash was given to the Conflict Victim and Disabled Society, Sankhu, Kathmandu for its service to the helpless elderly and for providing shelter for children with disability.

The Baby Life Home based in Kirtipur, Kathmandu also received the award for providing accommodation and education to HIV-infected children. The award was established four years ago with an aim to recognise exemplary social service of individuals and organisations. (PR)
