Maoist Centre Chair Dahal meets PM Deuba
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is preparing to form an alliance with the CPN-UML in both parliamentary and provincial elections, held a meeting with Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday.CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is preparing to form an alliance with the CPN-UML in both parliamentary and provincial elections, held a meeting with Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday.
According to PM’s press coordinator Govinda Pariyar, Dahal and Deuba held one-on-one meeting for an hour at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar this morning.
The top two leaders of ruling parties held the meeting after the Maoist Centre failed to keep its promise to forge an alliance with the Nepali Congress in the provincial and parliamentary elections scheduled for November 26 and December 7.
With the two elections inching closer, the two communist forces—CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN-UML—have intensified negotiations for such an alliance.
Earlier in the local level elections, the Maoist Centre had formed an alliance with the Nepali Congress in dozens of local bodies.
