Senior orthopedic surgeon at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Dr Govinda KC has made a public appeal with House Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar to use her special power to endorse the Health Profession Education Bill from the Parliament.
Organising a press meet on the eighth day of his fast-unto-death, the agitating doctor said that their attention has been drawn over the activities of core lawmakers of some political parties who are hatching a conspiracy to make the Bill unsuccessful.
Issuing a statement on Thursday, the crusader said that the lawmakers are trying to snatch the rights of general public and students to get quality health service and quality education at affordable price.
Dr KC has been staging 13th hunger at the Maharajgunj-based TUTH putting forth seven point demands.
He said that the persons, who are trying to spread their business by bringing the Act that favours mafias rather than benefiting students and public, are this time using lawmakers to fulfill their vested interests.
“The HPE Bill is in the state of being failed rather than being endorsed because of them and our long struggle in going to be in vain,” Dr KC said.
He said that the time has come to make public the political parties and persons who are trying to bring the mafia-friendly act and trying to stop the HPE bill, which will ensure the rights of 30 million people.
