Gauchan murder case: Police prepare sketch of murderers

  • Police suspect involvement of four people behind the crime

Oct 12, 2017-Police on Thursday found a lead on the murder of Chairman of Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) Sharad Kumar Gauchan.

They have sketched facial composites of the three persons suspected to be responsible for the murder of Gauchan.

Gauchan was shot dead in broad daylight at Shantinagar in the Capital on Monday. The incident site is just a stone’s throw away from his residence.

Police suspect that there were four people involved in the murder and the crime was committed after a long time of planning.

According to a police source, the four perpetrators had made a final preparation at Bhimsengola and Prayagmarg. They used a 9mm pistol for shooting, it is learnt.

Following the incident, the Police Headquarters, Naxal, on Tuesday formed a special taskforce led by DIG Ganesh KC to investigate into the matter.

The team comprises of CIB SSP Sher Bahadur Basnet, Metropolitan Police Crime Division SSP Dibesh Lohani, three DSPs and one inspector.
