Jamuna Gurung, wife of Sesh Ghale, the current chairman of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), has announced her candidacy for the post of NRNA chairperson on Thursday.

Gurung, also a member of ICC, announced her candidacy during a press meet in Kathmandu at 12pm today.

Gurung had decided to file her candidacy for the NRNA top post in the last minute. “She [Gurung] will be announcing her candidacy in order to take leadership and complete the NRNA building and Laprak Model Settlement as some people had reservations regarding those projects,” said a source close to Gurung.

Meanwhile, NRNA Vice Chairman Bhawan Bhatta and Advisor TB Karki have already announced their candidacy for the chairmanship.

With Gurung’s candidacy, Bhatta’s strategy to be elected as the NRNA chairman unanimously has hit a snag.
