The Standing Committee meeting of the CPN-UML on Friday finalised the name list of candidates in 25 districts for the first round of the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies taking place in 32 districts on November 26.

The meeting presided over by party Chairman KP Sharma Oli endorsed the draft about sharing the electoral seats between the his party and CPN (Maoist Centre) prepared on the basis of the joint task force's proposal and the decision of the party unification coordination committee.

The meeting also decided to forge an electoral alliance with the Rastriya Janamorcha in two districts (Pyuthan and Baglung).

The party's candidates contesting the first phase of elections from 25 districts are as follows.

In the case of Baglung, the candidacy will be finalised after holding discussions with the Rastriya Janamorcha. The party is holding further discussions with the CPN (Maoist Centre) to announce candidacy in Baglung.

The party has hinted the possibility of some change in the proposed name list of candidates as per the need of the broader leftist alliance.
