Nominations for first phase polls in 32 district today
The filing of nominations for the first phase of elections to Federal Parliament and Provincial Assemblies to be held on November 26 is underway on Sunday.The filing of nominations for the first phase of elections to Federal Parliament and Provincial Assemblies to be held on November 26 is underway on Sunday. The political parties are filing nominations of their candidates at the concerned district elections offices today.
Following the nominations, EC will publish the final list of candidates today itself. Complaints against candidates can be filed on Monday (October 23) after which EC will examine the complaints on Tuesday (October 24) and publish the list on the same day. Candidates can withdraw their candidacy on Wednesday (October 25) and EC will publish the final list of candidates and distribute electoral symbols.
Similarly, the schedule for the second phase election on December 7 includes registering nominations on November 2, filing complaints and examining those complaints on November 3 and November 4 respectively, candidacy withdrawal on November 5 after which a final list of candidates will be published and election symbols will be distributed on the same day (November 5).
EC is holding first phase of elections in 32 hilly and mountain districts on November 26, and the second round of elections in 45 Tarai districts on December 7.
The first phase of the election is being held in Solukhumbu, Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, Taplejung, Panchthar, Khotang, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Mustang, Myagdi, Baglung, Manang, Lamjung, Gorkha, East Rukum, olpa, West Rukum, Jajarkot, Humla, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Dolpa, Darchula, Bjhang, Bajura and Baitadi districts.
The filing of nomination will take place from 10 am to 5 pm.

October 22: Registration of candidacy and publish list of candidates
October 23: File complaints against candidates
October 24: Review the complaints and publish list of approved candidates
October 25: Withdrawal of candidacy, publish final list of candidates and provide them electoral symbols
