Ronaldo beat rival Barcelona and Argentinean Lionel Messi to the award. PSG's Neymar came third.
Ronaldo, who guided Madrid to LaLiga and Champions League double in 2016-17 season, received 43 percent of the total votes. Messi was second with 19 percent votes while Neymar received 7 percent.
Netherlands Lieke Martens won the best female player. Real Madrid's Zinedine Zidane was named best men's coach and Netherlands' Sarina Wiegman the best female coach.
French and Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud received the Puskas award for the best goal of 2017 for his scorpion kick goal against Crystal Palace in the premier league.
Italy's World Cup winner Gianluigi Buffon became the first winner of the best goalkeeper award.
