Bangladesh and Malaysia are the other two teams in Group ‘A’ as the tiesheet of the league-cum-knockout tournament was made public on Tuesday. Nepal will open their tournament campaign with a match against Bangladesh at the Kinrara Oval on November 11 before meeting India the next day at the Bayuemas Oval.
The Eastern Region champions Nepal will wrap up their campaign with a match against hosts Malaysia on November 14 at the Bayuemas Oval. Only the top two teams from each of the two groups will make it to the semi-finals, which is scheduled for November 16 and 17 at the Kinrara Oval.
The Group ‘B’ consists of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The three teams will be joined by the champions of the ACC U-19 Western Region that kicked off in Malaysia on Tuesday. Nepal had qualified for the tournament after winning the Eastern Region tournament in Malaysia on September 17.
Nepal are currently preparing for the U-19 Asia Cup in Bangladesh where they are scheduled to play three friendly matches against the Bangladesh U-19 team. The three matches will be held at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan grounds. Dipendra Singh Airee will be leading the Nepali youth team in the tournament.
