CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said the country will witness a new political system after the federal and provincial elections. He said there will be a new system of governance as per the people’s aspirations and the nation will find a path towards prosperity.
Speaking at a press meet in Damak on Friday, Chairman Oli opined that the current parliamentary system is not best form of government for prosperity. He added that countries such as USA and China have been superpowers and prosperous without adopting a parliamentary system.
Saying that the recent alliance between the parties has indicated towards a new path for the nation, the former Prime Minister said that democracy can also be strengthened through executive government system.
The UML chairman, during the press meet, criticised Nepali Congress alleging the oldest party of indulging in loot in the name of democracy. He further said that conspiracies are still rife to foil the upcoming polls that will establish a firm pillar of democracy.
He urged the Nepali Congress and other political parties to take part in the elections fairly, not to level false charge against the alliance and not to abuse the power.
“Some of the NC leaders are misleading the public by saying that the left alliance, once in power, would force authoritarianism over the citizen,” said Oli, “In what kind of statehood does a Prime Minister say that he will finish off the opposition?”
Likewise, Chairman Oli accused the NC of being selfish and forgetting to protect and strengthen democracy.
