The Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) said it arrested Ashok Kumar Yadav, 30, of Bishnupur Rural Municipality-1, Saptari, currently residing at Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, and Ishwori Shivabhakti Yadav, 38, of Bijaypur Municipality-5 of Rautahat, presently living at Chabahil, Kathmandu, acting on complaints filed by the victims. Both of them are the operators of Mitrapark-based Aza-Wai International Pvt. Ltd.
The duo had collected Rs 300,000 to 400,000 each from four persons including Bibek Bhusal of Nilottama Municipality-8 of Rupandehi district under the pretext of sending them to Canada, Turkey and Macau among other countries for lucrative jobs with handsome salaries, police said.
The victims filed a case at the MPCD after the operators did not initiate process to send them to the respective countries.
Based on the complaints, a police team deployed from the MPCD swung into action and arrested the duo from Maharajgunj, KMC-3.
They have been sent to Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, for investigation.
