The EC said that it has been preparing to make public the results within five days.
“The election results will be made public within a week, necessary arrangement has been made to add vote counters if needed to publish the results as fast as possible,” said Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Ayodhee Prasad Yadav in a programme organised in the Capital on Friday.
Saying that political parties have been organising election programmes in schools which are against the election code of conduct, he said that the EC has been doing its best to effectively enforce the election code of conduct.
Political parties had committed not to use schools as programme venue, children in election campaign and demonstrate arms and weapons on the premises of school among others.
He sought roles and responsibilities of parents, guardians and teachers on discouraging them to join political rallies and any other sort of activities.
Representative of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), among other political parties, have already signed not to use school as an election programme venue.
On the occasion, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) member Govinda Sharma said that a monitoring team had found that children are being used in election campaign in 18 districts which are against the election code of conduct.
Director General of Department of Education, Baburam Poudel said the Department was giving its special attention to keep children least affected from the impact of elections and school holidays to be given during the elections period would be adjusted from the cut off in the winter/summer vacations.
Joint Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Dr Hari Lamsal said the Ministry was aware that schools should remain open at least 220days in a year and there should be atmosphere for children taking classes confidently. "Natural and human-induced difficulties have affected the school activities, however."
The parliamentary and provincial elections have been scheduled for November 26 and December 7.
