Don't judge election security from small untoward incidents: EC

High level election security committee coordinator, Sudhir Kumar Sah, informed that a meeting held among security agencies and top government officials have made thorough review of election security and decided to take action against anyone-group and forces-involved in foiling the upcoming federal parliamentary and provincial assembly elections.
The Election Commissioner Saha said, "We have ample security forces, resources and effective channel of communication. We're sure about peaceful election. One can't say election security is weak only by taking into account some minor incidents."
According to him, coordination and cooperation among political parties, candidates, voters and other stakeholders would be maintained smooth. Some 272,000 security persons have been mobilised for the election security.
He further said State's presence is everywhere to ensure fear-free atmosphere to the voters.
During the meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav expressed the belief that the security agencies would work in well coordination to make the elections successful. RSS
