Police have arrested four Nepali Congress (NC) cadres for their alleged involvement in beating a woman at Sanobheri Rural Municipality-7 in Rukum on Thursday night.
Kalpana Budha, the wife of Sanobheri Rural Municipality-7 ward Chairman and CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Kul Bahadur Budha, was mercilessly beaten black and blue last night.

Four Nepali Congress cadres who had taken part in an election publicity campaign organised at Khalanga, the district headquarters, yesterday have been detained.
Narenadra Malla of Chaurhazari Municipality-9, Tej Bahadur Bista of Chaurhazari Municipality-1, Prem Malla of Chaurhazari Municipality-3 and Shanker BK of ward number 1 have been arrested in connection with the incident, District Police Chief Rajendra Prasad Dhamala informed.
Meanwhile, the CPN (MC) has alleged that the incident was a pre-planned attack conducted by the NC cadres. CPN (MC) district in-charge Raj Kumar Sharma has demanded that the arrestees be tried as per the existing law accusing the NC cadres of beating Kalpana after they failing to find Kul Bahadur whom they had planned to attack.
