“We have stopped taking in applications as we are short of hands,” said Tej Narayan Yadav, chief of the Bagmati Transport Management Office (BTMO), Ekantakuna.
The driving tests—both written and practical—have been halted since Sunday, he said, adding that his office will resume its services after the completion of second phase of polls on December 7.
The halt to the licence distribution is expected to affect thousands of service seekers. The BTMO receives around 1,000 applications for the driving licence every day.
