The local administration said the order would be in effect in Likhu Rural Municipality-1, with an aim to avert possible confrontation between the two sides. Venues of the scheduled rallies of left and democratic alliances were 200 metres apart.
In Rasuwa, the local administration declared Ramche of Kalika Rural Municipality-1 a restricted zone after election programmes of the left and democratic alliances were set to clash on Thursday.
Chief District Officer Chomendra Neupane said a prohibitory order was enforced in Ramche according to Section 6 (3) of the Local Administration Act-2028 in view of possible confrontation between the rival camps. A meeting of the District Security Committee decided to enforce the order until 10pm Thursday, he added.
