Bomb detonated targeting PM Deuba in Tulsipur; Myadi police among 8 injured

Eight people including a Myadi police (temporary police) man were injured when an unidentified group detonated a blast at Tulsipur, Dang on Tuesday. Four of the injured are said to be critical.
The improvised explosive device (IED) was set off near Delight corner shop at Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan-5 when Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba was heading to address an election assembly at Araniko ground. He was accompanied by senior NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel, and General Secretary Shashanka Koirala, among other central leaders.
Temporary police person Binod Chaudhary and locals Dev Kumari BC, Devi DC, Sunita Chaudhary, Naradevi Budathoki, Bamraj Sunar, Netra Bahadur KC, Parbati KC and Himlal Rasaili, were injured in the blast, according to Tulsipur-based Rapti Zonal Hospital.
Critically injured DC has been referred to Nepalgunj hospital. The other injured have been receiving medical attention at Tulsipur hospital.
The administration has mobilised a large number of security personnel following the incident. Chief at Dang District Police Office, SP Durga Singh, said the police have been searching for those involved in detonating the blast.
After attending the programme, the leaders left for the district headquarters, Ghorahai, to address another programme.
