Addressing election assemblies in Tulsipur, Ghorahi, and Lamahi on Tuesday, Deuba claimed that it became possible to get rid of the autocratic Rana rule, Panchayat and King’s rule because of Nepali Congress. “NC’s victory was indispensable to save democracy,” said the NC president.
In his short speech, PM Deuba accused left alliance of trying to impose authoritarianism in the country. “Democracy is in danger due to left alliance. Communists are trying to bring authoritarian presidential constitution by throwing away current constitution,” said Deuba, “If so happens, we won’t be able to demand our rights. Now the task of saving democracy has fallen on NC.”
PM Deuba said that NC wants to make people powerful. “Communists will make you slave, but we want to make you masters. It is up to you to decide whether you want to become slave or master,” said Deuba.
Another NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel too lashed out heavily on left alliance. He said that leftist alliance is not a good sign for the country accusing the leftist alliance of damaging democracy in Nepal.
Saying that communists are dividing the nation in the name of caste and ethnicity, leader Poudel said NC is the party that will connect people of all ethnic and geographical background.
At the programme, NC General Secretary Sashank Koirala said that time has come for Nepali people to make the right decision. He said it was the important responsibility of people to choose a party that will save democracy and country.
