TI urges parties to abide by the election code of conduct

In a statement on Thursday, the TI has said that it is good that parties are conducting ‘massive’ promotion to acquire maximum votes from voters, but at the same time it is said to learn that the parties who have agreed to abide by the election code of conduct are breaching the polls code themselves.
“The security situation is constantly becoming difficult on one hand while on the other the tendency of the candidates to ensure victory by doing anything might lead to the formation of a governing body that might not be a true representative of people. Therefore, everyone needs to be wary of the situation right from now,” read the statement.
The TI has urged the government to take stern measures to maintain law and order situation and for a free and impartial conduction of the elections. It has also appealed to the political parties and candidates to carry out their election activities in line with the poll code.
